3. Explanation
OSP Architecture were originally appointed by a private contractor that Hyde were due to enter into a JV with. The planned JV would involve the private contractor appointing all of the consultants and securing planning application. Due to grant funding timescales Hyde proceeded to work closely with the architect, advancing the architectural drawings and planning application layouts. The planned JV negotiations collapsed after nearly 6 months and Hyde were left to take over the running of the planning application as well as the appointment of all the technical and professional consultants. It would be uneconomical to award the architect contract to another party at this time as the design is about to be locked down for planning submission and we would risk jeopardising the viability of the whole scheme by potentially delaying it further.
